Ohio City’s brewery population will increase this spring, with the addition of Bad Tom Smith Brewing‘s taproom.
The Cincinnati-based brewery – whose slogan is “bad ass in a glass” – aims to open at 1836 W. 25th Street, caddy-corner from Nano Brew and near Old Angle Tavern. It is renovating the 2,220-square-foot space that formerly held Weenie A Go Go. The owners are hoping to open by Memorial Day.
It will be Bad Tom Smith’s first taproom outside of Cincinnati.
“We’re real excited,” said managing partner John Vojtush, co-owner with his fiancee Sheryl Gittins. “Our strategy is a little different from the majority of the marketplace. A lot of the market focuses on distributing through cans and bottles. Our focus is to find markets that are well-established. And Ohio City is a mature market.”
